Introducing our new neopixel wall lamps! Using designs created by Shayna, Nick carves out the imagery on a CNC router and programs neopixels specific to each lamp. Shayna then paints them by hand! Email us at nick@moontowerlabs.com if you are interested in your very own neopixel wall lamp!

PIX-E® is an open source 3D Printed camera based on the Raspberry Pi Zero. Designed by Shayna and Nick Brewer, the PIX-E® camera takes short gifs that can be shared on social media.

Matt Griffin, Director of Community for Ultimaker North America, asked if we would like to make a 3D Printed project to be displayed in the Ultamaker Booth at World Maker Faire 2016 in October. After some discussion, we landed on something similar to an old disposable camera that would use readily available parts and simple programming.

Our design philosophy was that we wanted something that could be built by anyone with intermediate making skills. We encourage everyone to play around with the python code and 3D models to make PIX-E® do something new and exciting!

We have also included several .pdfs of decorative wraps created by Shayna Brewer that you can print and cut out to give your PIX-E® an extra bit of flair.

The PIX-E® Assembly Instructions are available on Make's Community Projects and Hackster.ioe

The PIX-E® 3D Models are available on Thingiverse and YouMagine

The PIX-E® source code GifCam can be found on github
